Biographical history

Mennonite Central Committee administrator, pastor, author, peace advocate.

Urbane Peachey's first career was in international service - in personnel, development, and peace - through Mennonite Central Committee from 1960 to 1986. He was in Jordan with his family for five years where he served as MCC Director in association with other non-governmental organizations. He later served as administrator for programs in Egypt, Jordan, West Bank, and Lebanon and as Executive Secretary for MCC's binational Peace Section. From 1986 to 2005 he worked as a pastor and counselor and, following retirement, he served in leadership roles with Lancaster Interchurch Peace Witness. He holds a MA in Public Administration and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and seminary degrees from Lancaster Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary.
