This photo shows a group of about 30 posing on the side of a building and around a tree. One man is reclined on a branch of the tree, several men have white aprons as if they are the cooks, some have dark aprons as if they are black smiths, and some are dressed in uniform with shiny boots.

This photograph shows a forestry camp in Russia. Several building can be seen. There are two men with bicycles in the background and other men standing around. Part of the trees seem to have a tinge of green. The inscription on the reverse says "Kaserne Gross-Anadol."

Ruins of a fortress near Ksanka

This photographs shows an inside view of the ruins of a fortress near Ksanka, Caucasus? . About 15 men, serving as Medical Service workers on Train No. 208 are posed in the ruins. Abram J. Dick served on Train No. 208. There is a duplicate copy where the ruin is identified as, 'Kansi Ruin, east of Tbilisi, 2 1/2 hour drive. He is leaning on a metal fence surrounded by foliage and palm trees. His arms are folded across his chest. This photograph can also be found in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia, p. 114.

Jacob Dueck in the Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia

This is a full-length portrait of Jacob Dueck. He is dressed in the full uniform of the Red Cross Alternative Service during World War I, his right hand resting on an ornamental stand. The scene on the cloth backdrop has a river, or pond, with 2 ducks and trees on the shoreline. This photograph also appears in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick on page 117.

David Dick and Abram Dick in Alternative Service in Russia

This is a portrait of David and Abram Dick in the uniform of the Red Cross Alternative Service men in Russia in World War I. Abram Dick is sitting at the opening of a studio rock formation with his arms folded across his chest and David Dick is standing to his right. This photograph also appears in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick on page 121. A translation of the German note on the reverse: "Here come guests. If you know them, write down what kind of people these are. A hearty greeting and kiss from your son Abram. Be seeing you! " The names David Dick und Papa, Papa's cousin, Isaac's son, are written on the reverse.

Disinfecting the trains, during World War I in Russia

This photograph shows a long line of railroad cars being disinfected by pipes connected to each car. These pipes are connected to a larger pipe alongside the train. One person is standing by each pipe, men and women. The train is identified as No. 208 of the Red Cross Medical service staffed by Mennonite Alternatie Service men during World War I. This photograph can also be seen in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick, on page 80 where a further description is given. There are a few lines of writing in Russian on the reverse. This is the same photograph as number 686-105.
