Taken before the last trip after the long ride from home. I look kind of dragged out." He is likely one of the "seagoing cowboys" who volunteered to work aboard cattle boats shipping livestock to war-torn areas after the Second World War. Newport News, where most of these boats departed from, is the likely location.
