Harms family home at Winkler, Manitoba

Left to right: Three unknown "gypsies," Henry Doell, Maria Harms nee Doell. Abe Harms, Agatha Harms nee Doell, Peter Harms, George Harms, Isaac Harms, unknown, Judith Harms (Penner), Wilhelm Harms. Agatha and Maria are sisters and Abe, Peter, George and Isaac are sons of Wilhelm Harms (1842) and Judith (nee Penner). Maria Doell is holding a young child. In front of Henry Doell is a baby carriage with a young child and another child is standing beside the carriage. Agatha is also holding a young child in her arms and a boy is standing beside her.

Wilhelm and Judith Harms

Wilhelm Martens is standing outside with his wife Judith nee Penner. Wilhelm was born 23 Oct 1842, and Judith 3 Sep 1842. They emigrated to Canada about 1880. Wilhelm was elected minister in 1883. His father was Peter P. Harms 1813. Wilhelm is wearing a dark 3 piece suit and dark shirt. Judith is wearing a long black dress with buttons down the front and she has her hand in a pocket. Judith is also wearing a black lacy cap (Haube). Behind them is a fence with slanted boards and a house with 2 windows shown.

Peter and Agatha Harms

Peter Harms b 1863 is sitting on a chair outside with his wife Agatha nee Doell b. 1867 .There are more people standing behind them but they are cut off. Peter is wearing a white shirt and a vest and has a beard and mustache. Agatha is wearing a dark dress with folds in the bodice and a lacy cap (Haube). Peter was born in S.Russia and emigrated to Canada at about the age of 15. Later he moved to Saskatchewan with his wife and lived at Laird, then moved to Renata B,C. When Agatha died in 1930, Peter married Margaret Schoreder. He died in 1945.

Jacob Dueck's house in Rosengard, MB

This photo shows the old Jacob Dueck's farm in Rosengard, East Reserve, Manitoba located on SW 18-6-6E. The Dueck family is standing on the yard. (l-r) sons, Jacob N. and Diedrich N., Jacob Dueck born 1846, son Peter and Mrs. Dueck, nee Maria Neufeld. See also East Reserve 125, Hanover Steinbach 1874-1999 published as a supplement to Preservings No. 13, Dec. 1998, p. 18. In the background is their house barn, a fence and an out building built of logs. Beside the people stand a goat. Further in the background is a dense array of [poplar?] trees. The house barn appears well built and in good repair including the thatched roof.

Wilhelm Schwartz 1862-1903 is seated on a chair with wife and children. The children are L_R John (d. in teens) William Schwartz (seated) Jacob 1892-1969, Tina (Mrs. John Klippenstein)t. Wilhelm is the great-great Grandfather of Ran Schwartz. Jacob 1892 is the Great Grandfather. Wilhelm is wearing a dark jacket and vest, white shirt, patterned tie. Mrs. Schwartz is wearing a long dark dress with buttons down the front. She has a small lace cap (Haube) on her head.
