Likely in North America when members of the Mennonite Holiday Tour group, seated at long tables, possibly in the basement of a church, were having a meal on the 1956 tour. This photo is likely related to those above in 2010-14.608-612 and 614-615 below, but is not identified. Some of the people are facing the camera.

Group of delegates en route to the 6th Mennonite World Conference

No. 1 in a set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Corny J. Rempel, a delegate to the conference, took photos and sent them with explanations to Frank Epp, editor of the CM. Rempel's explanations are included in the memos for each photo and a copy of them is in this envelope. In No. 1 a group of delegates enroute to the 6th MWC chat on the deck of a ship. L-r: Mrs. C. F. Derstine; Peter J. Dyck; Dr. Schrag; E. J. Swalm; Gerhard Lohrenz. In front of Peter Dyck is his older daughter, Ruth. The series continues to 2010-14. 469. A 2nd set sent to the CM by C. J. Rempel is in 2010-14. 470 to 493.

A series of mat negatives, produced on cardboard

A series of mat negatives, produced on carboard and labelled "special relief cuts" (ie more like a woodcut). Numbers 2 to 6 were used in the 1956 vol. of the CM as follows: #2 "Child of Neglect" in 4-45-2; #3 "Child of flight" in 4-46-2; #4 "Child of despair" in 4-47-2; #5 "Child of want' in 4-48-2; "Child of hope" in 49-4-2. For 1 of the "cuts" which shows a young boy, perhaps in an Asian country, there is no label or indication of when it was used.
