This photograph shows a group of 21 adults, men and women, with 10 children including babies, posed in front of the Heinrrich Wiebe residence in Steinbach. The building has shingled siding, with tapestry hung onto the wall for a background. Persons identified by Mrs. George Goossen, Steinbach and from book, Reflections on our heritage, a history of Steinbach and R.M. of Hanover from 1874 by Abe Warkentin, 1971, page 88, as follows: Row 1: lying down, at right, Johann Wiebe; Row 2: 2nd from right, bearded man seated with tall hat, Johann T. Barkman (1862-1900); Row 3: l-r-Mrs. Heinrich Wiebe, holding baby; third from left, lady with white ribbon on dress, Mrs Klaas R. Toews(?); 5th from left, Mrs. Peter H. Guenther, born 1873, with infant son, Peter S. Guenther (later Steinbach teacher); Row 4: 2nd from left, Heinrich Wiebe; 4th from left, Abram Friesen; 6th from left Helena Reimer, daughter of local merchant Klaas Reimer; extreme right, German immigrant couple living in Steinbach at that time.
