There were stores in Gretna, Morden, Plum Coulee and Tannenau (East Reserve). Seat in the front row far right is Johann Schroeder who worked in the stores on the West Reserve. The West Reserve stores were built around 1883 when the railroad came though Morden, Plum Coulee and Gretna. Schroeder worked in the stores unitl 1892 when he got married and started farming.
