This large collage is titled on top in Russian with the date 1912. Besides the portraits of the service men serving on the forestry camp it also includes the Russian men who were in charge of this camp and an outdoor view of the camp. The names of the persons in Russian are:

Group of men in forestry service in Russia

This is a photo of a group of approximately 60 men in the Russian forestry service, "Forsteidienst". It is the Alt Berdyan detachment from the years 1910, 1911, and 1912. Here young Mennonite men were obliged to complete 3 years of forestry and tree nursery service. The picture was taken in October, 1912 at Forester Siewitsky's anniversary celebration (Jubelaeumsfeste). He had served in the forestry service at Alt Berdjan, Altagir for 35 years. On this day the highest government title of Sir Excellence (Sir Exellens) was bestowed on him. The men are dressed in military style uniforms. Three distinguished looking older men sit in the center of the first row. They are also in uniform but of a somewhat different style including longer coats. The group poses right in front of a large brick building with a tiled roof and some windows. Several trees can be seen between the house and the men. Following are the names of the Forstei recruits:

Composite photo of Mennonite men serving in forestry at Anadol

This photo is a composite with 50 individual oval portraits, in commemoration of the blessed time together in September 1911 at Gross Anadol. In the centre at the top is Abram Klassen, the head administrator at this camp; below him are an Ediger and a Riediger, and below them are two ranking officers, one an H.H. Thiessen (noted by the striped collars).

This photo is a composite with 60 oval portraits of Mennonite men in forestry service at Anodol in 1913. Also included are an additional 5 oval portraits of administrators, and 4 other photos of life at the camp. In the centre at the top is Head Forester (a Russian), below him is David Klassen, forestry president, to his left is Abram Klassen, the man in charge of material and pastoral care at the Anadol camp.

Celebrating the coronation of the Czar.

This photograph show 16 Mennonite men in the Alternative Service in Russia, taking part in a celebration of the anniversary of the coronation of the Tsar, some are seated and some standing. There are some instrumentalists standing behind the seated men. A section of this photograph is rather faded. The date 14. May 1913 is written on the reverse. This photo also appears on page 148 of the book by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick, Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia.
