Steinbach Mennonite Church Ceremony, Rev. Frank Isaak

This is a photo of Rev. Frank Isaak with a large crowd assembled for the opening of the new addition of the old Steinbach Mennonite Church in Steinbach, Manitoba. Also pictured are Prediger Frank Froese (on the steps), and Prediger Henry Fehr (at the foot of the steps).

Helena Krueger Sewing class

A group of women, all students of Helena Krueger's (b. abt 1890s) sewing school in Steinbach. 6 women are seated and 7 are standing behind them. All are wearing dresses, some one coloured, some pattered. Helena Kroeger is the 3rd person seated from the left. The 3rd person from the right is Hildegard Warkenten (Mrs. Jake Adrian) Steinbach.

Henry and Dorothy (nee Thiessen) Fehr and children Barbara Ann and Kenneth Henry. Henry is wearing a checked suit, white shirt and dark tie. Dorothy a jacket with white trim. Kenneth is wearing a jacket and bow tie and Barbara a jacket with white trim..

Welcome to Steinbach

This photograph shows the fenced yard on a Steinbach street in the early days before there were paved streets or sidewalks. Some buildings are shown on the treed yard. The significance of this photograph is the sign on the post which reads "Welcome to Steinbach Speed Limit 15 miles per hour. Danger Sharp Curve.

S Regier Tailor, later Regier Clothing, business in Steinbach, Manitoba. Sabastian? Regier pictured standing in front of building. The Regiers were Austrian and were part of the EMB Church.

Residents of Steinbach MB

This photograph shows men and women standing outside with a few children and young men seated in the grass. These are probably all residents of Steinbach, Manitoba, and perhaps all members of the Kornelsen family. Seated in the centre are G.E. Kornelsen and his wife Anna (nee Doerksen) 1854-1937. Identity of a few others: Back row: l-r, 1st man, Jacob G. Kornelsen, long time high school teacher in Steinbach; smaller man unknown, next, G.G. Kornelsen, Watkins dealer in Steinbach; tall man, 3rd from right, Heinrich Kreutzer - another source identified this tall, bearded man as Diedrich Unger; last man in back row is believed to be John G. Kornelsen.
