A small set of personal papers created by a Mennonite minister in Osborne County, Kansas and Peabody, Kansas.  Includes an account book belonging to Samuel Winey, notes on scripture references by topic and short essays and sermons, three diaries, spanning 1884 to 1895, and miscellaneous materials.

Bishop David Stoesz papers

This series contains a dairy by David Stoesz (1842-1903), correspondence several sermons, a wedding invitation from the Bergthal Colony, an early school organization record, handwritten book of hymn melodies, and a few books. Of special interest is a book bought by David Stoesz in 1861, published in 1834, originally written by Menno Simons and published in 1575.

Christian Erismann Diary

A short autobiograpy and lengthy diary (in German script) of an Amish Mennonite who immigrated to the United States with his family in 1857 to Granville, Ill.  and taught in Amish Mennonite Schools in various Illinois communities.  The diary contains a good deal of information about Erismann's religious and spiritual life, recording his prayers, uinderstanding of Christian behavior, and attendance of worhsip services and Sunday schools.  Over time, the diary becomes a journal of devotions on special religious days.

Only the first 44 pages of the diary have been translated into English
