Two copies of photo. Used in CM 3-37-7. He is sitting in front of his typewriter reading the CM. Recently he had part'd in the 25th anniversary of the Mennonite Church at Carrot River, Sask. of which he was the founder.
Negative & 2 copies of formal photo; smaller one: 7x10. Used in CM 1-10-4 with biographical article when he was 83. The larger photo bears name of Harold Ewert; the smaller one may have his own sig.; used CM 11-50-7 on "Outst. Leaders."
Same setting as 14.466; here he is typing. He carried on a "voluminous correspondence and spent much time in research" as well as gathering historical materials & statistics, espec. during his retirement. See CM 6-26-7.
He is sitting at a table, perhaps in a church basement & in front of an audience. It could have been at one of his birthday celebrations which took place in his home church of Bethel Mennonite See CM 5-49-7.
Used in CM 6-32-1. The late Benjamin Ewert is seated, holding a Bible, ready to be filmed by William Zehr of Portland Oregon who was producing a foreign missionary film on Japan & Formosa. His camera is in the photo & a painting of a European castle is in the background.
