AMR rye field

This is a photo of Arthur Slagel standing in a rye field in Chortitza, Russia, with the representatives of the Agricultural Committee of the American Mennonite Relief.

American Mennonite Relief harvest in Russia

This is a photo of a harvest scene in Russia. Besides the farm implements, there is a car in the background on the field. The lady in the forefront wearing a white top and a hat is probably David Hofer's wife, with her husband and an AMR worker. There is also a smaller copy 8.5 x 5.5 cm.

The trip to Novorossiysk, Russia.

This is a photo of a group of men posing on the lower deck of a ship. Two ship attendants are standing on the upper deck. This is probably a group of AMR workers, but none are identified except Alvin J. Miller, in the front, who has a white cloth wrapped around his hat. This photo was included in the Novorossiysk envelope. Arthur Slagel and A. J. Miller travelled to this seaport on the Albatross in April 1921 in an attempt to enter Russia. The trip was unsuccessful and they had to return to Constantinople.
