Scrapbooks containing snapshots, unit histories, descriptions of work and unit life, and other information about various Voluntary Service (V.S.) units sponsored by the Mennonite Board of Missions.  The scrapbooks appear to have been used in orienting new unit volunteers and in introducing unit work to visitors.

These records consist of unit reports and diaries, volunteer evaluations of their experiences, and miscellaneous materials associated with the (old) Mennonite Church's voluntary service program.  These records complement those in series IV-19-007, Closed Voluntary Service Unit records.  Documents pertaining to the earliest years of various closed units will be found in this series.

Mennonite Board of Missions Service Ministries Minutes, Reports, and General Subject Files

This series consists primarily of staff and board meeting minutes from 1935 through 1981.  Other materials include reports about various service and relief programs, descriptions of visits to voluntary service units, financial reports, and subject files from 1951 through 1970.  Materials in the late 1960s and 1970 address issues of race and ethnicity in the (old) Mennonite Church.

Later minutes of the Service Ministries division are most likely interfiled with the Mennonite Board of Missions Executive Board Minutes (IV-06-007).

Mennonite Board of Missions Health and Welfare Committee Frontier Boys Village (Divide, Co.) Records

Administrative records of a camp facility established by the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp Association and later administered by the Mennonite Board of Missions. Frontier Boys Village provided a long-term rehabilitation program for adolescent boys completing the requirements of Colorado's juvenile justice system. Records include board meeting minutes, correspondence, financial and development records, policy documents, publicity materials, scrapbooks, and photographs.

This slide show consists of 74 color slides of MCC's Voluntary Service program SALT (Serving and Learning Together). The photos depict MCC SALT voluntary service people in various locations often socializing. The photos were taken between 1979-1982 and gathered together in this form in 1982/1983. Two audio cassettes for this presentation can be found in the audio cassette collection #2321 and 2322. -- Note: Numbers 2,10,71 are missing.
