Mennonite Media Miscellaneous Phonograph Records

A hodgepodge of phonographic albums created by Mennonite Media, featuring content from several radio shows, including the Mennonite Hour, as well as independent radio advertising spots and documentaries.  Most Mennonite Media broadcasts were recorded to audio tape and may be found in Series IV-13-004.

Mennonite Media Russian and Non-English Program Files

Files pertaining to the production of evangelistic radio programs broadcast in languages other than English and/or made specifically for international distribution.  As the title of this records series suggests, the primary broadcasting language documenting in these files is Russian.  Programs were also produced in German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanse, and Navaho and for distribution in Africa, Australia, and Israel.  The records of Spanish-language evangelism programs may be found in the JELAM (Junta Ejecutiva Latinoamericana de Audiciones Menonitas) Records, IV-13-006 or the JELAM Program Files (IV-13-010.6).

JELAM (Junta Ejecutiva Latinoamericana de Audiciones Menonitas) Records

These records document the work of JELAM (Junta Ejecutiva Latinoamericana de Audiciones Menonitas), and inter-Mennonite Latin American organization responsible for Mennonite broadcasting in Latin America and its promotion.  JELAM was formed in the early 1970s after consultations among the Mennonite Board of Missions, Mennonite Broadcasts, and Mennonite conferences in Latin America.  A predecessor organization, JAALAM (Junta de Asesores para America Latina a Audiciones Menonitas), was an advisory board under Mennonite Broadcasts from 1969 to the early 1970s.

Materials in this collection document this history of JELAM and includes correspondence and meeting minutes collected by JAALAM member Henry D. Weaver as well as offical records.  Among the official records are manuals, Bible studies and tracts, correspondence, newsletters, financial statements, radio and television scripts, photographs,and photograph records and TV video tapes of radio / TV spots.

Aldine Carpenter and Eva Harder Brunk Papers

Photographs, correspondence, diaries,  sermons, and other material documenting the Brunks' mission work in India.  The most unusual item in the papers is Eva Brunk's essay, "My First O.B. Case in Dondi," which provides a first hand account of childbirth and post-natal care and customs in a "High Caste Brohmin's home" in the early 20th century.
