Vegetable display at the Steinbach fair. On the back of the photograph is a note from Katherine (Brandt?) that says, "This picture shows the first fair that I remember. It could be about 1915 - In the old Kornelsen school which was new in 1914 - Henry started to go to school then. He also had a few carrots for the fair, I am sure he got a prize"

Scrapped WWII airplane in yard of Steinbach Sheet Metal. Photograph is stamped "Processed Jan 7 1948" on the back. The planes are Westland Lysander (nickname the "Lizzie"). Several hundred were built and sent to Canada before and during the Second World War. British planes were named after mythical or historical military leaders; in this case the Spartan admiral Lysander was chosen.
