5/16" stack. Joseph C. Fretz, J. C. Fretz, Joseph Cober Fretz (1885-1956) was a layman (until ordained deacon very late in life) at Vineland Station, Ontario, much interested in church history. Letters are about local or regional history matters, and in 1929-1930 about what apparently was evidently about credit he was earning from Goshen College for historical study by correspondence. (Included is an examination signed by Bender and dated May 9, 1930, and a 20 page typed, double spaced paper "Examination in Mennonite History," signed by Fretz.) February 17 and December 10, 1930, refeences to "Bro. Coffman"--surely Bishop Samuel F. Coffman.
