This family photograph is of Margaretha Janzen, nee Paetkau and Abram Janzen and their eight children, four girls and four boys.. The group is in front of a cloth curtain and behind it is the corner of a brick building. The infant on the mother's lap is the daughter, Justina. The other three girls are wearing long dark dresses each with a brooch at the neckline. The boys are all wearing buttoned-up jackets. The boy at the back, Abram, is wearing a lighter coloured jacket, the other three are dark. Two boys in front are sitting on wooden footstools. The mother, Margaretha, appears to be wearing a dark bonnet. This is a well dressed bridal couple. Her dress is white and ornate with a wide belt at her waist. It appears to be all lace. There is a pin or small brooch at her throat. She is wearing a veil with flowers. She appears to have fair hair. Her left hand is in the crook of his right arm. He is wearing a dark, double-breasted morning suit, white shirt and white bow tie and ribbons with flowers on his left lapel.

This photograph is of seven young ladies resting under a large tree. They are students at the Maedchen Schule. All are wearing dark clothing and the youngest in front has a white apron over her dress. The names are Margareta Janzen and Lena Eckert in the front row; then unknown and Schroeder; back row M. Wiebe, Helena Unger (later a Mrs. J. Friesen) and Lena Dyck. Inscription on reverse states it was taken when "I" (unknown) was in the Maedchen Schule the first year.

This is a photograph of two young women dressed in suits for cold weather and gloves. Their large hats are ca. 1900. They are both wearing white blouses under their suits. A small purse on a chain is in the right hand of the woman on the left. It is believed that the woman on the left is Anna Janz (Janzen).

Their mother was Maria (Letkemann) Janz (1857-1894. No birth dates are currently available for Heinrich, Peter and Jacob; therefore it can't be determined which one is which.
