This photograph is of three Janzen sisters; L>R Margaretha, Maria, and Anna. The photograph is cut off at chest height. Margaretha and Anna's blouses are white and lace trimmed. Maria's blouse does not appear white but is trimmed with a white lace collar and a bow. All three are wearing jewellery; Margaretha a brooch and the other two have necklaces with large pendants.
The year 1913 is imprinted on the photograph in the bottom right corner.

This photograph features 4 sisters from youngest to oldest. From right to left they are Justina, Erika, Katharina and Margaretha Dyck. They are wearing coats and tams. Tams as head-wear were popular in the twentys. Justina and Katharina's coats have fur on their collar. All girls appear to have short hair. On the reverse of the photo is a short letter dated 10 Apr 1931.

He is wearing a dark, double-breasted morning suit, white shirt and white bow tie and ribbons with flowers on his left lapel.

The group is in front of a cloth curtain and behind it is the corner of a brick building. The infant on the mother's lap is the daughter, Justina. The other three girls are wearing long dark dresses each with a brooch at the neckline. The boys are all wearing buttoned-up jackets. The boy at the back, Abram, is wearing a lighter coloured jacket, the other three are dark. Two boys in front are sitting on wooden footstools.
