On the reverse is the caption in German "our Mama's birthday 1 Sept. 1972". The mother is Katharina Pauls Janzen (1882-1974), behind her is her son, Gerhard Janzen (1914-), her daughter, Katharina Janzen Pries (1910-1991) with husband Gerhard Pries (1903-1981).

At his feet is small dog. Elsa is wearing a dress and a tartan jacket. She has glasses. This photograph was probably taken in Rosthern, Saskatchewan where they lived until Heinrich passed away.

This is a photograph of a Katharina Priess sitting on a stool with her son Gerhard on her lap. Both are darkly dressed. The book she is holding open features German nursery rhymes, "Hoppa, Hoppa Reiter" is visible with a little boy riding his hobby horse and "Alle mein Entchen" with a little girl looking at the ducklings in the pond.

This photograph is of Jacob Dyck and Katharina Dyck (nee Janzen) and their four daughters. Standing in back L>R they are Katharina Dyck, Margaretha Dyck and Justina Dyck. Seated next to her mother is Erika Dyck. Margaretha is wearing a light-coloured, possibly white, skirt with a dark blouse trimmed with a white lace collar. The clothing of the others is dark.

This photograph features 4 sisters from youngest to oldest. From right to left they are Justina, Erika, Katharina and Margaretha Dyck. They are wearing coats and tams. Tams as head-wear were popular in the twentys. Justina and Katharina's coats have fur on their collar. All girls appear to have short hair. On the reverse of the photo is a short letter dated 10 Apr 1931.
