The 3rd Mennonite World Conference concluded with a celebration at Witmarsum, Menno Simon's home town, commemorating the events of his life. The delegates held a worship service in the Reformed Church at Witmarsum where Menno probably was a priest before joining the Anabaptists.

This postcard acquired in 1950 shows the former meetinghouse in Witmarsum, Dutch province of Friesland, where Menno was supposed to have preached his first sermons after leaving the Catholic Church in 1536.
