Biographical history
Born in Altona (Manitoba). Her family (parents and siblings) migrated to Bolivia in 1967. She made several trips back to Canada where she visited friends and relatives. On one of these trips she visited with the Rempel family who had been good friends of her parents when she was a child. She sent them photographs of each of her siblings and their families, as well as several other snapshots of life in Bolivia (their houses, their farmyards, and a few other activities) as they were in 1980 and several years later in 1986. In 1988, Helena's aunt, Mary (Buhler) Reimer, visited Bolivia, and took similar photos and these too were sent to the Rempels. These three series of photos make up the MHC photo collection 689.
