Biographical history
A conscientious objector during the Second World War; he married Dorothy (Tristram) in 1950. He was in Alternative Service at Montreal River (Dec 1941-1942), and later in British Columbia (June 1942-1944). He was editor of the Alternative Service camp newsletters the <i>Northern Beacon</i> in Ontario (1942) and <i>Beacon</i> (until May 1943) in B.C.
