The photo shows the David K. Fehr bedroom house in Waldheim. The structure containing the family sleeping quarters has a thatched roof and also has an upper level. The windows and door have roll down canvas shades to block out sunlight. Standing in front of the house are from the left, [David Fehr, two sons, wife Susanna]. The Chaco bush surrounds the yard.

The photo shows [David Fehr] standing in front of his residential house which contains [the kitchen and eating area]. The house has a corrugated metal roof with an eave along the front to catch the rainwater in the barrel at the corner of the building. There are some young [fruit] trees growing behind the house. The yard is surrounded by a barbed wire fence beyond which is the Chaco bush.
