Dampfmuhle

This photo is of the Dampfmüle in the village of Spat Crimea, built by Martin Langemann. The steam mill is a large 3 story brick structure with a small building in front of it. A smoke stack higher than the building is on the right. Trees and scrubs can be seen on either side. An open area and a wooden fence are in the foreground.

Double wedding

Jakob Kroeker

This is a photo of Jakob Kroeker, Spat, Crimea. Later he lived in Germany and was the well-known theologian and author of many books [HR 233].

This photo is of the motor mill (Motormühle) in Spat, Crimea built by H. Unrau. Presumably the motor mill was a engine powered by a combustion engine and used to grind grain or create electricity. On the left is a three story building and on the right is the mill, which is about four stories high, made of brick. Two horses hitched to a wagon stand in front. Only the centre of the photo is in focus with edges progressively less in focus.

This photo is of H. Schroeder sitting in a wagon, holding the reigns of two horses. In the wagon is a wooden crate. Standing on the left is Isaak Dueck and David Neufeld on the right. A few men can be seen standing in the background. On the sign, in German and Russian, is: Krimmer Mennonitischer Landwirtschaflicher Verband.
