"German Cemetery overgrown at Pordenau church. Gert. Albrecht." The Mennonite Church at Pordenau was destroyed during WWII. Evidently this is the Mennonite cemetery at Pordenau. Albrecht stands beside one of the gravestones (taller than he is).

The "Nickelstone", Abraham Nickel

This is a photo of the Nickelstone. In difficult times, Abraham Nickel from Jamrau, deacon of the congregation Schoensee, presented a document to King Friedrich Wilhelm III on November 8, 1806 at Graudenz on behalf of the Mennonite congregations of East and West Prussia. It was an offer document regarding a voluntary contribution of 30,000 Taler. Schoensee, the 8th of June, 1911. The West Prussian Mennonite congregations. [HR 8]

Windmill, on Schoensee-Schoeneberg canal

This is a photo of the windmills (wind mill), often referred to as the "watermills". They were reminiscent of those in the Mennonite homeland, Holland. This one stood on the canal Schoensee-Schoeneberg, near the Vistula. [HR 7]
