Scope and content

This photograph shows men and women standing outside with a few children and young men seated in the grass. These are probably all residents of Steinbach, Manitoba, and perhaps all members of the Kornelsen family. Seated in the centre are G.E. Kornelsen and his wife Anna (nee Doerksen) 1854-1937. Identity of a few others: Back row: l-r, 1st man, Jacob G. Kornelsen, long time high school teacher in Steinbach; smaller man unknown, next, G.G. Kornelsen, Watkins dealer in Steinbach; tall man, 3rd from right, Heinrich Kreutzer - another source identified this tall, bearded man as Diedrich Unger; last man in back row is believed to be John G. Kornelsen.
