History

Otto B. Reimer was born near Newton, Kansas. From 1914 until 1916 Reimer was a teacher in the Topeka (Kan.) public school system. During World War I he was drafted and served as a conscientious objector in the Quartermaster Corps. After his discharge from the military in 1919, Reimer settled in Reedley, California, where he joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. Reimer served as a member of the MB General Conference Board of General Welfare and Public Relations from 1945 until 1962. He was also a deacon for many years in the Reedley MB Church, and was active in relief work with West Coast Mennonite Central Committee.
