History

Jacob David Reimer was born in Kronsgarten, Chortitza colony to David Reimer Maria Neufeld. IN 1839 he married Wilhelmine Augustine Strauss and they had 11 children. He became an early leader in the Mennonite Brethren Church that was founded in 1860. His tombstone was later used as part of a fence. Family members re discovered the stone, moved it to the Molochansk Mennonite Centre in the former Molotschna Colony. It 2010 it was moved to the Mennonite Village Museum in Steinbach, Manitoba.
