History

Theodore David Regehr was born 23 November 1937 in Coldale, Alberta. After completing high school and university Regehr received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Alberta. Regehr has worked as an archivist at the Public Archives in Ottawa and as a Professor of History at the University of Saskatchewan. He is the author of several books, including The Canadian Northern Railway and Mennonites in Canada 1939-1970: A People Transformed.

In 1986, Dr. T.D. Regehr with assistance from his uncle, J.I. Regehr, began to gather information and material for the purpose of writing a history of the Alexanderkrone Zentralschule in Southern Russia. The result was the publication of For Everything a Season: A History of the Alexanderkrone Zentralschule in 1988.
