Administrative history

The Plum Coulee Bergthaler Mennonite congregation began after Mennonites first moved into the Plum Coulee area in the 1890s. In 1897 the Bergthaler Lehrdienst assigned two men to visit the families in the area. By 1904 some worship services were held in the local school building. From then until 1925 they met in various rented facilities. Then, in 1925, they purchased the Baptist meeting house in Plum Coulee. In the 1940s this building was expanded.
