Scope and content

No. 23 in a 2nd set of numbered photos from a tour of Berlin following the 6th Mennonite World Conference at Karlsruhe, Germany in 1957. The refugee Camp building Grazerdamm where families live in two and three-roomed apartments. While the outward appearance seems attractive (modern), families live in overcrowded conditions with as many as 8 people living in 2 rooms. The top part of the photo is missing but in the CM 5-37-7 it is shown completely. No. 22 photo, described in C.J. Rempel's list, is missing but is shown in the CM 5-37-7, a former radio factory which had been expropriated to house refugees.
