Administrative history

The MacGregor Bergthaler Mennonite Church was founded in 1950. Prior to 1950, the Mennonite families in the MacGregor area worshipped together as one group, even though their backgrounds included families from the Rudnerweider, Bergthaler, Kleinegemeinde and Sommerfelder churches. The Bergthaler built their own meeting house in 1951. It wasn't until 1967 that this congregation became fully affiliated with the Bergthaler Mennonite Church of Manitoba.

Jacob Loewen gave leadership to this congregation as well as the Gladstone group during the 1950s. Other leaders were: David Wiebe (1960-1968, 1981), Abe J. Regier (1969-1978), Peter Froese (1979-1980), John Zacharias (1982-1984), Glen Loewen (1985-1989), Victor Funk (1990, 1994-1996, 2001), Glenn Nickerson (1991-1993), David Ruby (1997-2000).
