Flooding of the village of Einlage (Kitchkas)

This photo shows a striped pole in the foreground and houses in the background partially submerged. The large building centre in the background is the Martens Mill. This photo is the second in a series of 3 when combined shows the flooding of the village of Einlage after the Dneproges Hydroelectric dam was built. Residents reestablished the village to the west of the site.

This photo shows a swelling river overtaking and flooding the houses on the lower bank of the river. A pole stands in the water to the right. On the embankment in the background are other buildings. The large building to the left on the upper embankment is a Russian church. Far on the right a smoke stack can be seen which is a mill and near it was a school. This photo is the third in a series of 3 when combined shows the flooding of the village of Einlage after the Hydroelectric dam DneproGES (also known as Dneprostroi Dam) was built. Residents reestablished the village to the west of the site.
