Biographical history
Katharina "Kay" Friesen was born on 31 May 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as the sixth child out of eight, to recent Mennonite immigrants from Russia, Peter J. and Anna Friesen. Kay Friesen served with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), as a nurse, in Indonesia from 1964-1970. She worked as a public health nurse in Winnipeg until she retired in 1990.
Kay Friesen died 3 Mar 2014 in Winnipeg.

This fonds consists of the letters and reports which Kay Friesen wrote while serving as a nurse with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in Indonesia, as well as other materials which she collected related to the work of Mennonite Central Committee in Indonesia and the history of Mennonites in Indonesia.
