Biographical history

Julius Duerksen was born 26 January 1881 in Saribasch, Crimea. His parents were Jakob Duerksen and Anna (Janzen) Duerksen. In 1901, the Duerksen family moved to village #3 Terek, Caucasus. April 30, 1910 he married Katharina Janzen who was from Altonau, Sagradovka. They came to Canada in 1925. They had four children - two sons and two daughters. Julius farmed in the fraser valley and retired in 1955.
