They pose in front of Bernhard's house 2 miles west of Winkler, Manitoba. Bernhard had married Maria in Winkler in 1941. They were about to move to Osler, Saskatchewan to take up farming.

Centennial Anniversary of Mennonites in Manitoba

This is a photo of the speakers assembled in the Winnipeg arena during the centennial celebration of Mennonite immigration to Manitoba. Gerhard Ens is seen speaking at the podium, and Dave Schroeder is sitting fifth from the left. Manitoba Premier Ed Schreyer is third from the left.
