MCC Canada Slide Presentation-I Caught a Glimpse of Christ Today

This slide show consists of 79 color slides of MCC's Voluntary Service program in Canada. Included with the slides is a script. The photos depict MCC voluntary service people in various locations working in an office, gardening, woodworking, child care etc. The photos were taken between 1980-1981 and gathered together in this form in 1982. Some of the photos were taken by Robb Nickel and Allan Kroeker. An audio cassette of the script can be found in the audio cassette collection #2320. -- Note: Numbers 4,6,9,11-13,24,27,38, 40-42 are missing.

MCC Canada Slide Presentation: To Return the Gift, Native Gardening

This slide show consists of 80 color slides depicting the landscape, MCC volunteers, the people and the gardens people planted in the communities of Pinedock, Bloodvein, Sachigo Lake, Ponask, Muskrat Dam between 1959-1982. Some photos were taken by Menno Wiebe, Laura Loewen and Keith Moyer and put together in this format in 1983 by Menno Wiebe and Kathy Sawatzky. Included is a script and an audio cassette #2323.

MCC Canada Slide Presentation-Screwtape Updated-Promoting Voluntary Service

This slide show consists of color slides taken in 1979 depicting young adults in various voluntary service activities. These include serving at Marymound, and at YOU (Youth Orientation Units), founded by Peter Rempel. In the YOU program young adults work in a small lumber mill, make log homes, and take care of farm animals. The script lists 69 slides, however only the first 34 remain. Included with these slides is a script and audio cassette #2326.

These records consist of unit reports and diaries, volunteer evaluations of their experiences, and miscellaneous materials associated with the (old) Mennonite Church's voluntary service program.  These records complement those in series IV-19-007, Closed Voluntary Service Unit records.  Documents pertaining to the earliest years of various closed units will be found in this series.

Mennonite Board of Missions Health and Welfare Committee Frontier Boys Village (Divide, Co.) Records

Administrative records of a camp facility established by the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp Association and later administered by the Mennonite Board of Missions. Frontier Boys Village provided a long-term rehabilitation program for adolescent boys completing the requirements of Colorado's juvenile justice system. Records include board meeting minutes, correspondence, financial and development records, policy documents, publicity materials, scrapbooks, and photographs.

Mennonite Board of Missions Service Ministries Minutes, Reports, and General Subject Files

This series consists primarily of staff and board meeting minutes from 1935 through 1981.  Other materials include reports about various service and relief programs, descriptions of visits to voluntary service units, financial reports, and subject files from 1951 through 1970.  Materials in the late 1960s and 1970 address issues of race and ethnicity in the (old) Mennonite Church.

Later minutes of the Service Ministries division are most likely interfiled with the Mennonite Board of Missions Executive Board Minutes (IV-06-007).
