A death at Mennonite Collegiate Institute

This photograph shows an outside winter scene, with buildings in the background. In the foreground are two young ladies looking down at a young lady in a coffin. They are both wearing winter coats, with big fur collars. It is indicated that this death occurred during the time when Irene Derksen from Steinbach, MB, was a student at MCI. This would probably be1944-45.

Funeral of Johann Goosen, 1858-1925

Johann Goosen is lying in a coffen outside.The quality of the photo is very poor.. Someone is sitting beside the coffin on a chair, Mrs. Goosen? Johann was born 31 Jan 1858 in Ladekopp, and died 10 Feb 1925, in Karussan, Krim. His wife was Anna Reimer who died in Paraguay. (G-28)

Funeral of Maria Janzen (Blumenfeld)

Photocopy of the family of Maria Janzen (nee Driediger) b. 16 Feb 1829, standing behind her coffin. The coffin is outside the church and is covered with a white lacy cover. Maria is wearing white except for her lacy black cap (Haube) There is a palm branch lying on top and green myrtle twigs decorate the edge of the coffin. Standing are: Franz, Peter, dietrich, Johann, Abram, Kornelius (son-in-law_ Korneliius (son) . Not on photo are Jacob Janzen, (Mrs. Katie Warkentin's grandparents, Johann Klassen and Justina Janzen ( ½ sister to the above ) Jacob Janzen.
