Baptism in Sumas River, B.C.? A young man is standing in the river with a minister about to be baptized while women & children look on from the bank. Date: Aug. 1956? or 40's? See History of South Abbotsford MB Church, p.40, 34.

Formal photograph. A baptismal group at Ta-Ya Mennonite Church. The six women and two men in the front two rows were baptized in confession of faith on June 20, 1965 by Reverend Hugh D. Sprunger. Not found in CM.

Used in CM 11-30-9. Baptismal group of 21 of the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church (average 16) pose outside. Baptism took place in the town's creek. See CM for names of candidates. The 3 young women wear white dresses and the young men white shirts. The 3 ministers with the group are: Rev. Hans Kasdorf, far left; Rev. H. Brucks, who served with baptism; and Rev. A. Rempel.

Used in CM 10-23-7. Two married women were baptized and their husbands received in to membership. At right are Ramon Jantz, pastor of the church and his wife Agnes. See back of photo or CM for names of the candidates. The Grace Mennonite Church was formerly called Victoria Avenue Mennonite Church.

Used in the CM 5-4-3. The first baptism since the General Conference Mennonite missionaries began work among migrants in Eloy, Arizona took place Dec. 2, 1956. The candidates are: Betty Clark, Mary Odom, Bessie Odom, Billy Odom and Rosie Odom. The photo was submitted by Elsie Heppner from Waldheim, Sask. See also 2010-14.399.
