A small set of papers pertaining primarily to Gingerich's difficulties with the draft board in the 1950s. Gingerich, a conscientious objector, encountered difficulty when he attempted to extend a student deferment. With assistance from MCC, he was granted a Presidential appeal and ultimately reclassified "1 O." Other materials in the collection include a 1999 article about Gingerich's seagoing cowboy experience and a curriculum vitae.
