Steegen Cemetery

This is a photo of the bottom part of a wooden cross with a shield attached to it at the Steegen Cemetery. Most of the writing on the shield is illegible, but the date "13. III. 1945" and the German words for "mourned and never forgotten" can be seen. The cemetery is overgrown with grass and trees.

Twin towers at Marienburg, Poland

This photo is of the Marienburg Castle, now known as the Malbork Castle, in Poland. The castle has two towers at the front which are built into the wall. In front of the castle is the Nogat River. In the background is an old railway bridge. In front of the railway bridge is a wooden bridge for pedestrians.

This photo is a newer two-storey building built of red bricks. it is a view taken at one end of the building. The building is large with windows on both floors. It is the guest house of Ulrich Rothof in what was formerly the Prussian district Stuhm. There is a chain-link gate supported by two concrete pillars at the front of the photo. Small shrubs are at either side of the gate.

This is a photo of a man operating a plant shredder (Leaf cutter) outdoors on a property in Grünhagen, Poland. The machine is made of two large wheels and is operated manually. The man appears to be shredding large leaves with it [tobacco leaves ?]. The property is flat with some tall grasses and a tree in the background.

This photo is of a house built by H. Regehr in Grünhagen in the former district of Stuhm in Poland. The building is made of bricks. Two windows are visible in the photo. The house appears to have a basement. On the right side in front of the house is an old well from which to draw the water. A pail is attached to a crank at the top of the well. A large tub is to the left of the well.

This photo is of a Mennonite cemetery in Heubuden, now Stogi, Poland. At the front of the photo are three large tombstones. The graves are outlined with bricks. More tombstones are in the background. At least one grave is missing its tombstone. The cemetery is not well-maintained. It has many trees growing in it.

Tombstone of Anna Wiens

This is a photo of a tombstone in the Mennonite cemetery in Heubuden, Poland. The name "Anna Wiens" is engraved on the tombstone, as well as the dates May 29, 1855 and June 25, 1891. In the background more tombstones can be seen. The cemetery is green with many trees.
