An assortment of materials pertaining to Mennonites in Ohio, including Sunday school conference programs, Sunday school meeting programs and notices, Bible conference programs, and church programs, dating from the turn of the century through the mid 1920s. Also includes a book of Sunday school conference addresses (1907-1921) written by Harvey A. Schnell of Millersburg, Ohio.
Other materials include two essays: "My Childhood and Growing Up" by Emma Yoder Schnell (circa 1970) and "Home on the Prairies" by Elizabeth Yoder Woodiwiss (1963).

Andrew J. Yoder Legal Documents
A small set of legal documents associated with Andrew J. Yoder's 1947 lawsuit against four Amish Mennonite bishops. Yoder sued the bishops after they imposed an Amish 'mite' or boycott against him. Yoder was awarded $5000 in damages and the court ordered the bishops to withdraw their boycott order.
Documents include the plaintiff's causes of action, a transcript of court proceedings, and the charge to the jury.

The collection contains biographical and personal materials related to Anna Gertrude Penner’s extended career as a deaconess nurse, including a set of diaries spanning over fifty years. Perhaps most unique are papers related to her training as a public health worker and two years of work as a public school nurse in Newton (the first school nurse in Newton?), 1916-21.
