Ben & Katherine Hildebrandt with foster children

This photograph shows an elderly couple seated outdoors. The man holds an open book. Two children, probably in their early teens, stand behind them, each resting a hand on the shoulder of the adult in front of them. On the back of the photograph is written "Ben and Katherine Hildebrandt with Tina and Henry Remple (foster children)".

Brotherfield M.B. Church, Saskatchewan (1911)

This is a photograph of the Brotherfield Mennonite Brethren Church in Saskatchewan (Herbert Kreis, Rosthern Kreis, and Manitoba Kreis). According to H.A. Willms, the larger (northern section was built in spring of 1911, and the southern portion in the fall of 1901. Two very small structures stand very close to the church building. The buildings appear to be located on an open field A group of people, apparently dressed for a church service, socialize between the church building and the small structures. A lone buggy is parked beside a bush at the lower left hand side of the photograph.

Mr. & Mrs. Henry H. Friesen and family - 1913

This is a photograph taken of the Henry H. and Katherine Friesen family in 1913. A note at the back of the original photo says it was taken 1/2 mile north of the junction of #3 and #14 in Manitoba.The family members and their dates of birth are identified as follows left to right: Nettie, Katherine, Abe, Susie, Katherine, Mary, Henry H., and Henry.

People gathered at the cemetery to bury Wilhelm Klassen

This photo is of Wilhlem Klassen lying in his coffin with a large group of people gathered around the coffin. Klassen was a minister in the MB church in Ekaterinowka (Jekaterinowka) village 1 of the Ignatyevo Colony, Donetz, region of Russia. It appears that there are a number of ministers gathered close to the coffin. -- Note: this item will be placed in the oversized section. There are 2 copies. Copy 2 is 35 x 31 cm [b&w] with backing. Photo only is 29 x 23 cm.

This is a photograph of the North End Chapel in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It shows the front and one side of the building. A man appears to be sweeping the front staircase. A Model T is parked along the side of the church.

Tiege School for the Deaf - 1924

This is a 1924 photograph of a group of students and teachers at the Tiege School for the Deaf. The children and adults are arranged in 4 rows against a brick building which is largely hidden by foliage. The back row consists of 7 children with two men standing at either end of the row. These men are identified as "Teacher Wiebe" and "Teacher Dirks." A child, identified as Herta Giesbrecht, stands beside Dirks. Unidentified children make up the third row from the front. The second row from the front consists of 7 seated adults. These are identified left to right as: Andrez Suderman, "Director Wilhelm Schroeder," "House mother Schroeder," Malwina Dirks, Janzen, Peters and David Quapp. Unidentified children are seated in the front row.
