View from south across L Street of empty lot where the new Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church sanctuary would be constructed, houses adjacent to the lot.
View from tower of old Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church sanctuary looking north at construction of new sanctuary. Downtown Reedley is visible in background, particularly two water towers.
Dedication of vehicle for use by Mennonite missionaries in Japan, on the grounds of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. A large crowd of people are gathered around the vehicle, listening to a speaker standing on the vehicle's roof platform. The speaker (on right) appears to be Rev. J. B. Toews, pastor of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church at that time. The other two men may be Harold Gaede and Harry Friesen, both missionaries to Japan. There are stacks of lumber (for use in construction of the new building) in the foreground, and the northwest facade of the old sanctuary is visible in the background. A slightly different photograph of this same event was published and described in the 15 April 1951 issue of The Christian Leader.
