The photo shows the first buildings on the Johann B. F. Toews homestead in Laubenheim. There are two main structures with several sections each underneath tall trees, some are tent-like, some made of corrugated sheets of metal. There are four family members in front of the building on the left.

The photo shows the first buildings on the homestead of Peter P. Braun in Laubenheim. The building on the left appears to be the house, then there is a tent like structure and on the right there appears to be a workshop. There are three men working with wood in front of that building. Several uncut tree trunks are lying nearby.

The photo shows Braun standing in front of his residential house in Laubenheim. The two story house is made of clay bricks with a corrugated metal roof. A veranda runs along both sides of the house providing protection from the sun. There are two smaller structures on the right side of the photo.

The photo shows the Johann B. F. Toews residential house under construction in Laubenheim. The two story log framed house is made of clay bricks and corrugated metal sheets. The veranda is seen on two sides but the posts at the front indicate that it will wrap around the house. There is a smaller building beside the house. [Johann Toews] and another man are standing in front of the house while a child is playing on the ground.
