Klassen's <i>Alternative Service for Peace</i> does not list a Gerhard Thiessen from Kitchener, but does list a Gerald Thiessen from Waterloo. Darrell Frey's <i>Called to be a Soldier</i> lists a Gerhard Theissen from Waterloo. An Abe Bergen from Kitchener is listed at Kokshilah in <i>Called to be a Soldier</i>.
