Caption on back: "Hill Crest Logging Mill at Lake Cowichan. This was built since Oct 1942."
The Robertson family stands outside Hope Hall, a Plymouth Brethren church. Caption on back reads: "Ross Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Robertson, their two younger children Elsie and ___ I forget the little boy's name." According to Burkholder, the family frequently hosted young men away from home due to the war, both conscientious objectors and military men.
Caption on back: "This is where they burn all the sawdust at the mill." The structure is possibly a beehive burner.
