Bald prairie landscape and sky on side. Photo is taken through wavy wire fence. Some women are holding flowers. Envelope says "Sommerfeld Girls, summer."

Dear Conrad,
I was recently given the book"Mennonite Women in Canada:A History" The picture on the cover is from the Peter G Hamm collection. At a cousin reunion some of the ladies recognized most of those young women. This negative is in Tray 13 No.2
They are : standing l-r Suanna Kehler, Anna Kehler, Anna Hildebrand, Helena Hildebrand, Helena Kehler, Maria Wiebe, ?.
Seated:l-r ?, ? ,Helena Kehler, ?, Sara Kehler, Gertrude Wiebe

People in fancy dress under large tree. Nine men, all in dapper hats and suits, 2 women and 1 dog. Some people are standing, 4 are on a bench, 2 on the ground and 1 on top of a ladder. This is a casual/formal shot. Nice clarity. Also showing is a piece of a house in the background, some fences and sky. Envelope says "Ladies and Gents, No. 13."

Four young women, two dressed as (dressed up in costume) men. Also showing in room is doors, wooden floor and fancy wallpaper lining wall below wainscoting border. "Men" have large fake mustaches, glasses, large Dutch hats, dark suits, with white ribbons pinned on. Women have what appears to be small corsages, dark head coverings.
NOTE: This picture has previously been described as two young couples.
