The records show the functions and activities of the Portage Mennonite Church.

This fonds consists of oral interviews (digital) conducted by Abigail Carl-Klassen, transcripts, consent forms, as well as textual and photographic materials provided by the participants. "The oral history project sought to document and explore the ways in which Mennonite, Mestizo, and Indigenous individuals and communities have interacted with one another in spite of fears, prohibitions, and taboos, in the nearly 100 years since Old Colony Mennonites arrived from Manitoba and Saskatchewan to settle in the region in 1922. We especially wanted to capture personal stories to explore how life has changed in the Campos and to document the depth and variety of cross-cultural interactions occurring between individuals and communities at the present moment." https://www.mennotoba.com/5-questions-with-poet-abigail-carl-klassen/. This collections consists mainly of the village books covering the period 1875-1936, with a few gaps. The records record financial affairs of the village such as the levies on village inhabitants. There are also a set of community announcements (1917-1918), contracts with village teachers and shepherds, property transactions and other miscellaneous papers(1881-1904).

The materials in this fonds consists of scattered church council, annual meeting, and ministerial minutes, bulletins, financial records and a few records from Eden Mental Health Care services in Winkler, Manitoba.

This fonds contains the one bound volume and a series of 8 photographs. The register, started in the early 1950s, was used to record births, marriages, deaths, and termination of membership. The photographs show interior and exterior views of the church building.

The records pertain to the development of the Mennonite congregation in Kitchener, Ontario. They document some of the leaders and participants in the congregation.
