Caption on back reads: "Typical English fireplace at the home of Thomas Wray. Is made of black polished iron, brass and tyling [tiling]. Looks very neat, comfortable, and has a home like charm with its open fireplace, which must be seen to be appreciated. Used for cooking, baking and heating." Thomas Wray is George Wray's uncle.
